Power Line Constructors, Inc. is a full service outside electrical construction company which has built a solid reputation servicing the Northeastern USA for forty (40) years. PLC is primarily engaged in the construction of Smart Highway Traffic Signal Systems, Fiber Optic Telecommunication Networks, Airport and Airfield Electrical and Electronic Systems, Hi-Voltage Transmission and Distribution Systems, and Prison and Institutional Security Systems. From our main office in Clinton, NY, we support all the above listed technologies with a staff of administrators, engineers, superintendents, technicians, and draftsmen.
PLC originated in a small garage on Main Street in Utica and moved to Clinton in 1972. We currently operate within a 20,000 square foot building situated on approximately 6 acres on Robinson Road. Throughout the year, the company employs approximately 100 people who perform work on public and private contracts within the State of New York.
In the last ten years, PLC has demonstrated its proficiency in sophisticated construction of intelligent traffic systems. In 2006, PLC began work on an $8,000,000 traffic signal interconnect project involving the NYS Thruway's Buffalo exits and associated NYSDOT highways, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2007. In 2004, PLC as prime contractor, completed a $7,000,000 NYSDOT traffic signal interconnect project located in the Albany-Schenectady area. From 1996-1998, PLC built a city-wide traffic signal interconnect in the City of Syracuse, with a state-of-the-art traffic control system that enables the city’s traffic engineers to monitor vehicle and pedestrian traffic at approximately 140 intersections and to adjust the flow of traffic as and when necessary to meet specific needs, whether for rush hour, emergency or weather conditions. PLC is involved in many other publicly and privately financed projects., either as a prime contractor or subcontractor.
PLC is a member of the Clinton Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Utica, the Business Council of NYS, Inc., and the Association of General Contractors of Amerca, NYS Chapter.
